Beyt T'Fillah: A
Place To Pray
Shabbat
Services-Shabbat
morning services at SJCC Bnai Aaron feature traditional liturgy,
inspiring
melodies, and communal participation. Musically talented,
professionally
trained volunteers who lead services have the ability to facilitate
everyone’s
participation in communal singing by incorporating catchy, spiritually
moving
melodies and by varying the volume and tempo of the prayers. During the
first
part of the summer and at least once per month during the rest of the
year, our
Shabbat morning services are lay-led. Many Friday night services during
the
year are lay-led, as well. In addition, throughout the year, our
congregants
have the opportunity to lead davening and to read Torah, Haftarah,
&
Megillot.
SJCC
Bnai Aaron was the
first shul in the area to introduce the popular and spirited Carlebach
Kabbalat
Friday night service, featuring the uplifting melodies written by Rabbi
Shlomo
Carlebach z”l. On some occasions, these services take place
before
candle-lighting and are accompanied by guitar and other instrumental
music.
Several times during the year, our Carlebach service is followed by a
home-cooked community dinner prepared by members of our congregation,
communal
singing, and benching (reciting grace after meals). We also offer
non-Carlebach services on Friday nights throughout the year.
On
Shabbat morning, we
offer a variety of davening and learning opportunities for the entire
family.
In addition to traditional services in the main sanctuary, we also
offer a
monthly Learners’ Minyan, a weekly service for babies, toddlers, and
other
children under the age of 6 called “Munchkins and Mishpacha”
(“M&M’s”), and
Junior Congregation for students in Grades 2-6. Even though we offer
these
special services for children and families, children are always welcome
in the
main service!

Daily
Minyan- SJCC
Bnai Aaron
is proud to have one of the most consistent daily minyans in the area.
We have
a group of committed regulars, as well as a reliable on-call list,
thereby
enabling mourners to say Kaddish and the Torah to be read during the
week.
