Bring Us Your Paper - Make Money for the Shul and Help Save the Planet
By now many of you may have noticed the bright yellow and green Abitibi Paper Retriever container in our parking lot. This is a fund raising and social action - Tikkun Olam project of our USY chapter and we need your help. We need you to bring us your paper. What sort of paper? We want your magazines, shopping catalogs, newspaper, office & school papers and mail.  Please do NOT include: plastic, glass, metal or trash.  Recycling is good for the environment because it keeps lots of paper from ending up in landfills. Recycling paper with our Paper Retriever is an easy way to raise money for our synagogue. Turn that annoying junk mail and already-read newspapers into money for our shul.  Why should you recycle your paper with our Paper Retriever instead of your local municipal recycling project?  It makes money for our synagogue to help fund our programs.  You don't need to wait a week or two weeks to get rid of your discarded paper. You can put it in our Paper Retriever any day you want (except Shabbat and Jewish holidays). Does the office need to be open to put paper in the Paper Retriever?  No, you don't need to come to the office. Just come to the parking lot and drop your paper in the Paper Retriever.

Rosh Hodesh Group for 6th and 7th Grade Girls                                                                                                       For the first time, SJCC Bnai Aaron has the opportunity to host "Rosh Hodesh:  It's A Girl Thing!," a monthly discussion group for 6th & 7th grade girls that focuses on issues such as friendship, stress, body image and family relations from a Jewish perspective.  See page 8 of the May/June Shema for details.

We Need......                                                                                                                                                                   A terrific volunteer to "serve-up" monthly Shabbat dinners -- no experience necessary!  We have many people who come out to cook, but we really need one or more members of our synagogue family who are willing to be in charge.  Extensive training is included.  Our monthly Shabbat dinners only happen with the time and talent of volutneers.  Call Ruth in the office if interested.  610-446-1967.

Gift Shop                                                                                                                                                                          For a complete, well-stocked selection of Judaica and gifts visit our gift shop.  Open Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons and by appointment.

We Care About You!                                                                                                                                                    We want to be there for you when you or your family members or friends are ill.  If you would like to place the name of someone who is ill on the Mi She-berach list so that they may be included in the prayer for healing offered by the Rabbi, please notify Ruth Asbel in the synagogue office,  610-446-1967.  Also, if you know of anyone who might appreciate bikur cholim visits or meals during a time of illness please contact Lenore Asbel of the Social Action Tikkun Olam Committee.
